There is urgent need to improve the total well being of Northerners, especially children and women who cannot meet basics needs, such as food, shelter education health and security,e.t.c. the economic status of a northerner is the lowest in Nigeria and should be addressed to ensure the survival of Nigeria.
Northern politicians have failed to address all the challenges mentioned above and to continue to hope they will address it is folly and with great consequences now and in the future.
As a people, we have the power to change our situations by collectively taking actions that will help improve our conditions and that of our society.
If you’re a northerner and concerned about our current challenges, I have the following suggestions to help you make impact on your community if you’re not doing anything to change your community as follows;
Identify your passion, do you care about health or education .e.t.c? look out for like minds, people who you think share same passion with you. or you can influence to create change together.
Discuss with your team on what need to change in your community,come up with plans and timelines on how to make change, advocate to relevant stakeholders within the community and government circles who can help you achieve change and document your activities through pictures and keeping reports.
Always ask for help, many are ready to help your cause if they see the genuineness in your actions and passion to change your community.
Note: As you meet as a team you will go through the following stages as follows; forming, storming, normalizing and then performing.
As you embark on this journey of changing your community, you will face many challenges and successes, but the smiles of your beneficiaries will keep you going.
We have collective responsibility to make impact as citizens and then hold government accountable, as a young person if you are able make change without government budget, is likely you’ll do better with government budget if you’re elected or appointed into position of authority.
