Who we are

About Us

Ummah Support Initiative (USI), is a faith-based organization (FBO) established in 2003 and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC/ITNO. 21447) in July 2006. We are also registered with the National Planning Commission (NPC), Nigeria.

USI has a strategic focus of providing health interventions in the communities by working with volunteers to mitigate the impact of poverty, especially as it affects Street Children, Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC), Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), women and youths in poor and underprivileged communities in Nigeria.

Joint Annual Review (JAR)

ONE PLAN | ONE REPORT | ONE BUDGET | ONE CONVERSATION | ONE VOICE - JAR (JOINT ANNUAL REVIEW)

The Ummah Support Initiative (USI) participated in the Joint Annual Review, facilitated by the Coordinator Honorable Minister of Health and Social Welfare Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, CON. with Support from Development Partners such as GAVI, The World Bank, USAID, Aliko Dangote Foundation UKAID, Federal Ministry of Finance, Children Invest Fund Foundation, Europan Union, UNAIDS. Etc. The sector wide approach highlights on progress on key SWAP priorities and indicators - One Plan, One Budget, One Report, and One Conversation.

Monitoring and Evaluation

Ummah Support Support (USI) and Development Data Science Consultants are jointly providing Monitoring and Evaluation services to Universal Basic Education with support from Islamic Development Bank for the Bilingual Education Project (BEP) in the following states, Adamawa, Borno, Niger,, Osun, Kwara Nassarawa Kaduna, Gombe and Kano respectively.

PARTNERSHIP

June- December 2016: Ummah Support Initiative in partnership with ONE Campaign carried out the following in Seven Northern States. ONE awarded a grant in the tune of $15,000 to Ummah support Initiative (USI) in an MoU partnership agreement to implement the ONE Campaign initiative in 7 states of Nigeria (Abuja, Sokoto, Niger, Nasrawa, Kano, Bauchi and Borno).

  • Conduct targeted advocacy to grassroots stakeholders (Imams, Traditional Titleholders, Women Leaders & other Youth Leaders) as identified in various focal states
  • Develop, adopt & print One campaign messages in locally appropriate languages.Support grassroot campaigns in various locations (mosques, markets, religious gatherings & Islamic meeting fora) towards mobilizing support for signing petitions
